GP registrars

We are a training practice, which means we usually have one or more Doctors with us training to be general practitioners; they are referred to as GP registrars. All of our GP registrars are fully qualified doctors, who have had a number of years of hospital experience.

A valuable part of their training is for the registrars to use video recording during some of their appointments. Patient participation is entirely voluntary and all patients will be notified before their appointment if the registrar does wish to record the consultation. The patient can request, at any point, that the consultation is not recorded.

The registrars may also have joint surgeries with Dr Cronshaw or Dr Ross; again the patient will be informed before the consultation.

Medical students

We occasionally have medical students from the University of Exeter Medical School. They sometimes sit in with the GP during consultations, other times you may be asked if you are willing to have a short consultation with the medical student before you have your GP consultation. If there is going to be a medical student present, you will be informed of this when you make your appointment.
